Resume Tailoring

Resumes are often rejected not because experience is lacking but because they do not prove fit in ten seconds. This skill breaks down the JD and rewrites experience and keywords.

Workflow

  1. 1

Break down the JD’s hard requirements

Split the JD into must-have, nice-to-have and company context. Mark repeated verbs and nouns; these are the keywords the resume must answer.

  2. 2

    Rewrite experience with outcomes

Write each bullet as action, method and measurable result, keeping the three or four most relevant to the JD. If numbers are unavailable, use ranges, frequency or comparisons; do not invent.

  3. 3

    Match keywords and skills

Place JD keywords naturally in the summary, skills and experience instead of a keyword dump at the end. List only skills you can defend in an interview.

  4. 4

    One-page proof and application log

Keep it to one page and check timeline, company names, numbers and spelling. Log each role, version and response, then review which versions earned interviews after two weeks.

FAQ

Should a resume include a photo?

Follow the market and industry. Most international tech companies do not need one; creative or local service roles may benefit from a professional photo.

What if I have no quantified results?

Use ranges, frequency, scale or before-and-after comparisons, such as “handled 200+ tickets weekly and cut response time from 24 to 4 hours.” Truth matters more than polish.
