Landing Page Conversion

Low conversion is rarely a design problem; visitors usually cannot tell what the page does for them. This skill rebuilds the page in the order motivation → promise → proof → action and validates with small experiments.

Workflow

  1. 1

    State visitor motivation

Interview five real users about what they wanted to accomplish and what worried them. Write it as “I am looking for X because Y,” not an internal product description.

  2. 2

    Rewrite the value proposition

Keep only three things above the fold: who it is for, what problem it solves and what to do next. Replace adjectives with concrete outcomes, such as “publishable product images in 10 minutes” instead of “efficient and intelligent.”

  3. 3

    Lay out the proof chain

Order proof by visitor objection: case studies, real screenshots, data, third-party reviews and trial/refund policies. Every proof element should answer a specific objection rather than being a logo wall.

  4. 4

Design one CTA and run A/B tests

Keep one primary action per screen and start CTA copy with a verb. Test the above-the-fold promise and CTA placement before color details; change one variable at a time and do not conclude without enough samples.

FAQ

What if I cannot interview users?

Use support tickets, sales calls, search terms and exit surveys. Collect at least 20 real quotes before writing the value proposition.

What if conversion drops after the redesign?

First check whether traffic mix changed, then segment by device and source. Keep the old version and split traffic instead of betting all traffic on the redesign.
